Happiness = Expectations – Reality

Now imagine hopping into a DeLorean and traveling back to that distant era known as New Year’s Day 2025. Justin Trudeau’s finance minister had just resigned in spectacular fashion before Christmas, and the Liberals were entering their second year of trailing the Conservatives by double digits. At one point, the gap between the LPC and CPC had surpassed 25 points on average. Meanwhile, unconfirmed rumours swirled that Yves-François Blanchet was already measuring the drapes for his future office as Leader of the Official Opposition.
