François Legault’s challenges are mounting. Not only must the Quebec premier manage worsening public finances, but he is also contending with the fallout from the (mis)management of SAAQClic, Donald Trump’s tariff threats, and a Parti Québécois that continues to lead in the polls. And to make matters worse, fewer and fewer Quebecers seem inclined to support his party.

A new Quebec poll by Pallas Data, conducted for L’actualité and Qc125/338Canada, shows that the CAQ is not only grappling with declining popularity but also facing a resurgence of the Quebec Liberal Party. In fact, the QLP is no longer just a distant challenger—it is now closing the gap.
