Poilievre’s Numbers Hold Among Conservatives, but Road to a Majority Gets Bumpier

Recent polls from the Angus Reid Institute and Abacus Data show that impressions of Official Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre have stagnated in the past weeks. While Poilievre remains immensely popular among the Conservative base, numbers show that voters at large are not as impressed with the CPC leader.

Poilievre's favourables slip
The latest federal update from the Angus Reid Institute (ARI) asked: “Do you have a favourable or unfavourable view of Pierre Poilievre – Opposition Leader and leader of the Conservative Party of Canada?” Among all respondents, 56% expressed an unfavourable opinion, the highest level since he became CPC leader in September 2022. Over the past ten months, his unfavourables have steadily increased, while his favourables—now at 37%—have stagnated.
