Hours after Justin Trudeau announced his intention to resign as leader of the Liberal Party and as Prime Minister of Canada, Toronto-based polling firm Pallas Data went into the field to measure Canadian voters’ first impressions of the bombshell news.
While events in the coming months (and the outcome of the upcoming LPC leadership race) could dramatically alter the mood of voters, this early data shows Trudeau’s resignation might bring a modest share of voters back into the Liberal fold.
