New Baseline: 2025 Gains and Losses by Region
Here is a regional breakdown of net seat changes using transposed 2021 results as a baseline.
June is upon us, and the 45th Parliament is now in session. Regular polling will resume shortly—and so will the weekly 338Canada projections updates.
Before I update the site using the 2025 election results as the new baseline, I wanted to share a set of charts showing the regional net gains and losses for each party, compared to the transposed 2021 results (i.e., the 2021 election results applied to the new riding boundaries in effect for 2025).
Regular readers of this newsletter will recognize the visual format below. Coloured squares represent seats held by each party (LPC in red, CPC in blue, etc.). Check marks (✓) indicate a net gain compared to the 2021 transposed results, while Xs (×) denote net losses.
