Happy Monday morning, dear readers,

A new federal poll from Liaison Strategies — the first entirely fielded in 2026 — was released this morning and paints a picture largely unchanged from before the holiday break. The Liberals hold a three-point advantage over the Conservatives, a gap similar to the poll’s margin of error: 39% to 36%. The NDP remains steady at 12%.

With a national sample of n = 1,000 respondents, caution is warranted when looking at regional numbers, as they come with greater uncertainty. That said, three sets of results stand out and could carry meaningful consequences for the horse race.
