Kinew and Holt Top Latest Premier Rankings
While Ford and Legault once again sit at the bottom of the Angus Reid Institute’s quarterly report card.
It’s early December, which means it’s time for the quarterly Angus Reid Institute premier report card.
Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew tops this quarter’s ranking with 58% approval in his home province — down three points, but still a remarkably strong result more than two years after his election victory. New Brunswick Premier Susan Holt, elected in the fall of 2024, climbs four points to 56%. Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, the current dean of Canada’s premiers (in office since winter 2018), ticks up three points to reach 53% approval.
In the middle of the pack, Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston posts a respectable 50% approval (down three points). Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is down two points to 44% and registers a 53% disapproval rating, placing her at a net –9.
British Columbia Premier David Eby also finds himself underwater at 40% approval and 52% disapproval, for a net of –12.
Once again, Ontario’s Doug Ford and Quebec’s François Legault — the former freshly re-elected to a third majority, the latter staring down a difficult election year — sit at the bottom of the table, with dismal net scores of –28 for Ford and –45 for Legault.
