As I wrote on last Sunday’s 338 update: Data points are adding up.

We now add the latest federal poll from Léger to the pile. Released this afternoon, this new survey measures a single-digit gap between the Conservatives and the Liberals.

And that’s the generic ballot—with soon-departing Justin Trudeau as LPC leader.

Insert Mark Carney’s name into the questionnaire, and the numbers tilt even further. So much so that the “inevitable Conservative victory” projected over the past 18 months would seriously be in question.

After the shockwaves caused by last week’s polls from Léger (Quebec only), Pallas Data, and Nanos Research, the numbers we’ve seen so far this week are turning last week’s ripple into an outright wave.

Let’s dive into this fresh data.
