Gearing Up for 2025: NDP Cuts Ties with Liberals as Elections Loom
The confidence-and-supply agreement is no more, as the NDP aims to redefine its stance before voters head to the polls.
On Wednesday, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh announced that he was ending the confidence and supply agreement (CASA) his party had signed with the governing Liberals in 2022.
With little over a year until the next scheduled federal election, and two federal by-elections upcoming where the NDP are expected to be competitive, let’s see what recent polling tells us about the state of the agreement, and where the NDP stands now.
