It’s been a quiet January thus far, and, I must say, it’s been nice.

But politics is about to get going soon with MPs returning to the Hill at the end of the month, and provincial legislatures all revving up for their winter sittings.

But beyond the horse race, new polling numbers about issues that matter most to Canadians may show clues of the topics that will take centre stage in Ottawa (and throughout the country) this winter.
