New polling from the Angus Reid Institute offers a clearer look at how Canadians are feeling as the year comes to a close — both about their personal finances and their expectations for the year ahead.

The survey confirms that the cost of living remains the public’s dominant concern. Nearly six in ten Canadians (59%) place it among their top three issues, well ahead of healthcare (41%). Housing affordability (26%) and the broader economy (23%) round out the list.
