Carney Liberals Narrow Fundraising Gap with Conservatives

Provincial Conservatives lead second-quarter fundraising in B.C. and Alberta, but their NDP rivals bounced back after weaker starts to the year.

Canada's latest political fundraising reports offer another glimpse at the financial strength of the country's major parties—and, in a few cases, suggest the landscape may be shifting.

Here’s how the federal parties, along with their provincial counterparts in Alberta and British Columbia, performed during the second quarter of 2026.

Federal: Liberals Close the Gap

At the federal level, the Conservatives remain Canada's fundraising champions, but their advantage over the Liberals has narrowed considerably since last year's election.

The Conservatives raised $5.05 million during the second quarter, down from more than $6 million at the end of 2025. The Liberals, meanwhile, brought in $4.36 million, leaving less than $700,000 between the two parties.
