B.C. Conservatives Lose Ground as NDP Holds Steady
New B.C. polling from Research Co. finds Premier David Eby maintaining strong approval and the Greens inching upward, while John Rustad’s Conservatives remain mired in internal turmoil.
New British Columbia polling from Research Co. shows Premier David Eby’s New Democrats remain firmly in command of the political landscape in British Columbia, holding a six-point lead over John Rustad’s Conservatives, as this new B.C. legislature blows its first candle.
When asked to rate the performance of provincial party leaders, Eby stands alone above the 50-percent mark, with 53% of British Columbians approving of his work and 37% disapproving—an envious net approval of +16.
Rustad’s numbers are far less flattering: just 37% approve of his performance, while 48% disapprove—a net -11 rating, the highest negative rating among major party leaders.
The finding comes as the BC Conservatives continue to grapple with internal disarray and a shrinking caucus.
