338 Sunday Update: This Is Getting Out of Hand
Introducing a new tracker on 338: Odds for Official Opposition.
Have we reached a new temporary equilibrium in the federal horse race, one in which the Liberals and NDP battle for a distant second place to the Conservatives, fighting it out for crumbs in the seat count?
We aren’t ready to reach this conclusion just yet, but polls from the past weeks certainly seem to point in that direction. With an election call that could come sooner rather than later, the latest data shows — now more than in past months — that the Conservatives are cruising towards a crushing majority in Ottawa.
What we thought were the floors and ceilings for the major parties may need to be revisited.
Let’s first review polls from the past week, then dive into this week’s 338Canada federal update.
