There was a flurry of new polls about the mood of Canadians on various issues this week, but little to chew on regarding voting intentions or impressions of leaders and parties.

Here were some of the most prominent polls on issues:

  • The Angus Reid Institute on the Israel-Hamas conflict.

  • Léger on the delicate issue of medical assistance in dying (MAiD).

  • Ipsos’ 28-country survey on populism.

  • Léger on Legislation on Gender Affirming Care for Children.

The horse-race numbers we did get from Nanos Research (details paywalled here) measured a 16-point lead for the Conservatives: 40% CPC, 24% LPC, 21% NDP. Read Nanos’ report here.

Here is a brief summary of today’s federal update (February 18, 2024).
