338 Sunday Update: CPC Flirting with 200 Seats
Steady double-digit leads for the Conservative and better numbers for the Bloc spell trouble for the Liberals
The Week Recapped
Over the course of the past week, we were given three federal polls that all showed a varying degree of Conservative dominance over their Liberal rivals:
The Angus Reid Institute was first up this week, giving us a 17-point Conservative lead in their latest polling. With the Tories at 41% and the Liberals at 24%, the Bloc managed to pick up further support in Quebec, raising their national share to 9%, report here.
Abacus Data dropped their polling for the week just in time for this model update! They’re similar to Angus Reid, yet have the Liberals at 25% and the Conservatives at 40% instead, with the Bloc down a point nationally, report here.
Nanos Research gave us a 13-point Conservative lead this week with the Conservatives sitting at 39% and the Liberals at 26%. The NDP picked up some ground and inched up to 21%, report here.
With that out of the way, let’s get into the 338Canada model for the week!
